Rules of Conduct

 

This forum was created out of the needs and wants expressed by our fellow hobbyists. At first the concept was simple - build a site and let people post. No one here at BestGFE has a big ego and no one wished to 'play god' with the forum as so often happens when someone becomes moderator and admin. Instead, it was our intention to allow people's own better judgement and freedom of speech to rule the day. So, we initally created the forum with virtually no rules, creating what we still hope is a site where you will be able to find the hobbying information you need, no matter where you were in the country -or- in the world, (OK, maybe we have SOME ego thing going on!)

Sadly, we have discovered that some rules are required although you will still find topics are discussed and debated freely. Please remember, these rules are dynamic and evolving.


There is a link on top of each individual post for reporting Violations (called a BAD POST). Do not use it friviously, but use it when needed. Only REGISTERED USERS can report a post this way.If you are a non-registered user and wish to say something contact us via the CONTACT US page. NO ONE is exempt from the DON'Ts listed below.

Treat other posters with respect Get into name calling or flame wars on this board
Understand that everyone is ENTITLED to an opinion Degrade another person if their opinion is different
Have open, honest, intelligent discussions Attack others, their manhood, or parents in any way
Post good and bad reviews, but we want to find the BEST Post misleading, false info. No commercial ads! (see note1)
Write every post like you were writing your best friend Use slander,racial,ethnical or sexual slurs or derogatory terms
Back up claims with fact, especially if negative Discuss minors in any way - immediate ban + will result

We will ban IP addresses/users for repeated violations of any of the above!

HOBBYISTS: Post honest reviews without name calling and in a factual manner. You will have more credibility that way. You may debate or question the validlity of a post, but back up your arguement with FACTS! This is NOT a board of cliques; it IS a board where every voice is heard. DO NOT use derogatory names or terms to discuss fellow hobbyists OR PROVIDERS.
DO NOT post REVIEWS in the PROVIDERS ONLY section. It is a moderated topic and comments & reviews WILL NOT get posted!! Occasionally we MAY allow a question, clarification, etc to be posted there by a hobbyist, but it solely at our discretetion. You may post freely in a Provider/Agency FORUM, but content there, what is allowed to be posted or deleted, is entirely at the Provider/Agencys discretetion.

PROVIDERS: Despite the temptation, DO NOT respond to reviews in the hobbyist section. Trust us, you will not lose business because of one bad, bogus review and other hobbyists WILL defend good providers on their own! The best defense comes from a respected, third party, fellow hobbyist. Also, DO NOT post ADS in the HOBBYIST sections.

note1- Providers MAY post ads in the PROVIDERS ONLY section. Any posts made to this section will be reviewed PRIOR to being posted up on the board. Put a START DATE and an END DATE in your ad. The posting will be AUTOMATICALLY REMOVED after the END DATE. Hobbyists - don't even TRY to post reviews in this section. In addition, for now, certain providers/agencies may have their own FORUMS.
