Doubt it. There are many thousand massage parlors in the country and a handful get busted every day. And every one that gets busted usually reopens either in the same or a different location very soon after.

For every town that is intolerant of massage parlors, strip clubs, sex shops, etc., there are others that don't give a shit. Near me, there are towns (including mine) that bust them regularly, and other nearby towns that have 8, 9 massage parlors of all different ethnicities operating openly for almost ten years without being hassled.

That's true. I was thinking more along the lines of the customer base. At some point, you wonder about business impacts due to customer loss. The last AMP I went to a few weeks ago, I got the impression they were hurting for customers.

I don't see that. Every time I go to an AMP (usually once a month) the phone and doorbell ring like crazy while I'm there. A lot of my friends go to AMP's - all more often than I do.

I tend to go weekday, as opposed to weeknight or weekend. It may just be the timing.

So do I - usually at 9:00 am. They're probably even busier at night & weekends.

From my own experience and observations I think business for many AMPs is suffering in my neck of the woods. I get too many unwanted solicitations via texts and phone calls from stores lately. I don't see the traffic I used to either. In addition there seems to be an increasing amount of reports of more providers at stores increasing the menu options probably in an attempt to stand out from the crowded field. With all of the heat from LE lately it's no surprise many guys are cutting back on store visits. I know I am. In fact it's one of the reasons I check this forum so often. To see which stores were raided.....

Yeah, and I believe Clinton, MI is a very large town population and size-wise.

There were three in one day in Dover (NJ) 5 1/2 years ago, which shocked the hell out of all of us, as Dover has a reputation as a town that turns a blind eye to massage parlors. It turned out that a jealous competitor (another MP) called the police and told them that there were underage girls being exploited for prostitution against their will. Not only were the local LE involved, but the FBI, Homeland Security and Immigration were all on the case. It very quickly turned out to be false reports, and they were given slaps on the wrist and were back in business in a couple of hours. No problems in Dover since.

Years ago, one of the best AMPs I ever went to was outside of Philadelphia. Some guys here would remember it as "Kent Marketing." That was the sign outside, which was hilarious because it just an AMP. Anyway, it was there for about five years. Then an RMP moved in two doors down. Town took one look at the two places and busted both out of business about a month later.

In Dover, there are three in one block, and at least two more within three blocks. They're all in discreet locations with minimal signage. All have been there for many years.

A lot of KMP's in Philadelphia just have an unmarked door with an address number. In addition to being discreet, this eliminates the problem of civvies wandering in off the street thinking it's a legit therapeutic massage place.

Reminds me of a place in the northern burbs of Philadelphia on Bustleton Avenue.

A fabulous AMP next to a Midas Muffler. Just a standard house. What little on-line advertising there was said something like "Spa 6844." That was it. If you were at the house marked 6844 on Bustleton, you knew were at the right place.

The Licensing & Inspection folks eventually shut it down, but if you need a muffler, the shop next door is still there.
