First National Strike Against Donald Trump Planned For 2/17

    Their demands:
No Ban, No Wall. The Muslim ban is immoral, the wall is expensive and ineffectual. We will build bridges, not walls.

    2. Healthcare For All. Healthcare is a human right. Do not repeal the ACA. Improve it or enact Medicare for All.

    3. No Pipelines. Rescind approval for DAPL and Keystone XL and adopt meaningful policies to protect our environment. It’s the only one we’ve got.

    4. End the Global Gag Rule. We cannot put the medical care of millions of women around the globe at risk.

    5. Disclose and Divest. Show us your taxes. Sell your company. Ethics rules exist for a reason and presidents should focus on the country, not their company.

The immigrant (illegal or legal, I'm not sure) strike yesterday, two different groups having protests this weekend in Philadelphia, and the National Strike. Are people going to get protest weary?

This is a very exciting march. I may join them. Perhaps we can burn more of the property of some of the law abiding immigrants we are striving to protect!

Nothing like walking the streets with your little girls, exposing them to that mess. And wearing a sign that says 'pussy' to boot. Nice!

It's supposed to be peaceful. What's the over/under on how many windows will be smashed and cars burned?

These morons could have saved themselves a lot of time and effort, not to mention milling around in the cold had they just taken a few minutes to go VOTE!

Tell you what, if anyone working for me had taken yesterday or today off to go protest, I would have done my Trump imitation: "You're Fired!"

I don't know the answer to that, but I do know this: Burning down the local bodega really sends a message to those nasty, rich old white guys! That's what MLK did, right? lmao. These people are unreal.

Some confuse "peaceable assembly" with destroying property, assault, disrupting traffic, starting fires, which can potential place people in jeopardy.

I'm up a ton in the market since November. It's been good for me so far.

As for making comments about Trump in public, work or otherwise, I don't.

I wish people would stop pretending that there is a Muslim ban. There is nothing of the sort. There is a travel ban of people of ALL religions from selected countries that are predominantly Muslim. Other countries that are predominantly Muslim are excluded from the ban. And it was the Obama Administration that selected the countries subject to the ban in the first place. The mental gymnastics that people are willing to go through to maintain their outrage is incredible.

Also, I agree that health care is a right, but not in the sense that they mean it. Everyone has the right to pursue health care. Rights = freedom. However, there is no such thing as a "right" to anything that must be provided by others. This means that there is no RIGHT to free health care, free education, or free anything. Such a right would involve a right to coerce others to provide these things. We simply have no right to coerce others. On the contrary, we have the right to be free of coercion.

I'm one of the idiots who believes there is a Constitutional Right to prostitution.

Wrong on the ban. If it was blanket, I'd have no opinion. But it makes provisions for 'persecuted' Christians. Let's face it any Christian in those countries can very easily claim persecution.

I don't know about a Constitutional right, but I definitely believe in a natural right to prostitution. As Thomas Jefferson explained in the Declaration of Independence, governments are instituted to secure these rights.

Well, this is perhaps broadstroke, but I look at it from the point of the right of citizens to be secure in their homes and person.

An outcall to my home is illegal in my state. But as long as I am not harming someone in my home or in some way harming my neighbors, I don't view it as a issue that someone decided was illegal and therefore criminalize me.
