Jeter and Jeb Bush to purchase the Marlins?

Jeter could be put in the position to fire Don Mattingly.

Boring can be good if it is competent. The current ownership isn't the sharpest of tools yet they sold the team for over a billion. Bush and Jeter are professionals who know what they know but are smart enough to surround themselves with others like them. If you were to make a bet right now, today, would you think they would fail?

Turning a 157 million dollar investment into a 1.3 sale sounds pretty sharp to me.

They might not be the best baseball team but they were business sharp

My view is that Loria et al. are viewed as erratic/inconsistent and perhaps ethically challenged, but I don't know that anyone thinks they're dumb.

That's exactly what I was referring to. Buying a Major League Baseball franchise is like buying a money printing machine in most cases. Loria will make a good if not great return but imagine what it would be worth if he hadn't fucked it up?

The question to me is: how involved will Jeter be? I don't see him being involved in the day to day aspect of things. He certainly won't be the majority owner. Jeter is likely just a front man (as a Dolphins fan, I can tell you with some authority that South Florida loves those celebrity owners)

Nice brain fart. How does your statement bear on their exceedingly bland personalities?
